Perspectives through the lens of an amateur photographer

Deep Forest River

A bit of an “atmosphere” photo for today, and a small departure from what we’ve been seeing of Jiuzhai Valley for these past few days. This isn’t a scenic site, a waterfall, a lake, or even a real river, really. It’s nothing that really stands out against the stunning backdrop of the valley. This photo is just a little look at the kind of tranquility and quietness of the trails.

For any natural park I visit, I always try to take the trails and get immersed in the landscape as much as possible. Yes, the scenic spots are gorgeous — and totally worth a large part of your time, by the way — but sometimes just the atmosphere is worth paying attention to. The big stuff gives you the grandeur to take back and share with your friends, but the small stuff gives you the peace to take back and apply to your life.

And by the way — happy World Photography Day!

Shot with Canon EOS Rebel T3 @ 18mm, 1/30s, f/5.6, ISO 125.
